ContactParent Trust Center
Here, the answers are short and clear: what's verified today, what we're aiming for, and what we'll verify before launch — kept apart, in plain language.
Our trust plan · verification in progress
The microphone staying off until touched is hardware-verified. Retention settings, the parent app, the deletion flow, and country-specific legal compliance are verification gates before we go live.

Trust table
Microphone, data, parental control, and proof of our promises. Each card gives one question a fast, visual, honest answer.

01 · Microphone
It doesn't listen unless touched.
The first thing Neeko owes a family: the conversation opens only when the child touches it to start. Parents can see, in plain terms, exactly when the microphone is live.
The fastest trust answer: microphone behavior is never hidden.
See the detailShort answer: it doesn't listen until your child touches Neeko and starts a chat. Neeko has no wake word; the microphone never waits in the background. When the chat ends, it switches off again.
While waiting
The microphone is off. Neeko lives through its expressions, but it can't hear.
On touch
The chat begins; audio is processed in real time. Our goal is that raw audio is never stored — we're verifying this setting one by one before launch.
When the chat ends
The microphone switches off again. The summary landing in your parent app is one of the flows we're testing end to end before launch.
| Data | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Conversation text (transcript) | Keeping the chat going + giving you a summary | Goal: anonymized after 90 days — pending legal approval |
| Raw audio stream | Carrying the live conversation | Goal: never stored — being verified before launch |
| Your child's name, age, interests | So Neeko talks in an age-appropriate way | Goal: until you delete it |
| Device status (battery, connection) | So the app can say 'Neeko is doing fine' | For as long as technically necessary |
| Camera / location / biometrics | — | Not in the hardware; never collected |
This table is our pre-launch data plan; final retention periods will be sealed by legal review and live account settings. For the full list and legal framework: Privacy Policy + Children's Data Policy + KVKK Disclosure Notice.
Conversation summaries
What was talked about today, which topics caught their interest — the goal is that you see it at a glance.
Topic filters
Which topics are open, which are closed — you'll set the list.
Time limits and quiet hours
A daily limit + night mode are coming. Bedtime is bedtime.
Parent Guide
You'll be able to ask 'How was this week?' — the answer will come only from verified data.
One-touch delete
The goal: permanently deleting all data whenever you choose. We won't call this flow 'ready' until it's been tested end to end.
No hidden corners — here's what's ready, and what's on the way.
In this category, there have been devices that went silent the day their servers shut down. We're designing Neeko with that risk in mind: a product that feels like a friend to a child owes its family an honest word about longevity, too.
Even if the internet goes down, the basic signs of life continue — it sleeps, wakes, and lives through its expressions (verified today). We're testing on the real device that the chat picks up safely where it left off once the connection returns.
We announce every significant change affecting your device (updates, service, policy) in advance and openly — no surprises.
Even in the worst case — if one day we can't keep the service running — we don't want to shut down without leaving families a way to keep Neeko's core abilities alive. Until this promise has a clear technical and legal footing, we don't call it 'certain'.
Items marked "Founder approval pending" or still at the planning stage are not published as firm promises until their legal and technical footing is clear — we want to keep the promises we make, and we don't inflate the ones we can't.
KVKK + GDPR + COPPA framework
Our policy drafts were written with these frameworks as reference; a legal expert review is pending for country-specific compliance statements.
CE + EN 71 (toy safety)
Certification application is in progress; once complete, it will be published here with certificate numbers.
Independent audit / kidSAFE
International child-safety badges are on our roadmap.
We never present something unfinished as finished. Status labels separate verified behavior, open launch gates, and planned work.
