> Status note: It is verified on the hardware that the microphone stays disabled until touched. As for audio processing settings, the AI's safety behavior, and parent visibility — we are testing these with the real device and app before launch.
One of the most natural questions about Neeko is this: "How will this little device talk, how will it answer, and which safety gates will it pass through?"
The technical details can go deep, but four layers are enough to understand the big picture: the device, audio processing, the AI flow, and parent visibility.
1. The device is the surface where interaction begins
Neeko's physical side is the starting point of the interaction. Capturing permission-based audio, delivering the answer through the speaker, and the LED expression layer all come together on this surface. This is the part that's visible to the child.
2. Audio is turned into meaningful context
When a child talks to Neeko, we are working on having the system turn that input into a limited context. The goal isn't just to hear the words; it's to build a flow that can evaluate intent within family and age boundaries. We will measure its accuracy in real-device testing.
This layer aims for an experience that is more fluid and context-aware than fixed commands — this is a goal, not yet a proven result.

3. The answer isn't just text — it's an experience
Once the answer is generated, that output is turned back into speech and joined with the character experience. This is why Neeko's voice, tone, and expressive language matter; the technology fades into the background here, and the experience takes the lead.
4. Parent visibility is an inseparable part of the whole
We don't see Neeko as only the child-side experience. We are working on a structure where parents can see the boundaries and the overall picture; we will test this structure with the real app and real data before launch.
Looked at technically, Neeko is a product where multiple layers work together. Looked at from the user's side, the goal is simpler: to create a voice experience that feels natural for the child and stays understandable for the parent.
